The day started out a little cloudy, but turned out to
be a beautiful day for a Rodeo!
Held at the Bantam Cafe in Butler, there were over 50 Jeeps in attendance through
out the day ranging from an original Bantam (Pictured Below) to a Grand
Cherokee. The day allowed for everyone to show off
their talents at the four different courses that were set up. The first event of
the day for everyone was the barrel roll. Participants were required to push an
empty plastic 55 gallon drum about 50 feet, while keeping the barrel
touching the front bumper. (or steering components as some were to tall!) It was
a tough one to master since you really can't see where the barrel is at while
driving!
Next up was the slow drag. The idea behind this was to drive about 40 feet without touching the brakes, and do it in the slowest time. Good way to test out that Granny Gear! From the slow drag the competition moved on to the Teeter Tauter. This looks much easier than it really is!
Now on to the event that always gets the most attraction! The RTI Ramp. Jeepers got to "test there flex" while Rick West and Ben DiCola measured them up.
We were please to see Bob Brandon's original 1941Bantam BRC as well as many other fine looking rigs!
We hope that everyone had a good time. Please stay tuned to see when the next HRJA Rodeo will be ! See you then!
